Brody appeal dismissed

NSW jockey Brodie Loy lodged an appeal with the Racing New South Wales Appeal Panel against penalty after being found guilty by the Racing NSW Stewards' under AR175(gg), (g) & (a). Following a urine sample obtained from Mr Loy on 29 January 2018 after he rode in Race 3 at Goulburn earlier that day, Stewards also inquired into the circumstances leading to the delay in that sample being provided and subsequent events.

Following a Stewards inquiry on 5 April, 2018 Mr Loy was Disqualification for a period of 12 months backdated to 9 February 2018 (on which day he was stood down by stewards) and to expire on 9 February 2019. This appeal was heard on Friday, 22 June 2018 commencing at 9.30am.

The panel gave the following orders:

Appeal against penalty dismissed

Penalty of 12 months Disqualification confirmed, backdated to 9 February 2018 and to expire on 9 February 2019

Appeal deposit forfeited
