Adkins recovers in hospital from Randwick fall

Jockey Andrew Adkins, who fell from his mount War Baron as both went over the top of the fallen Persan and Glyn Schofield approaching the winning post in the listed Fernhill Handicap at Randwick on Saturday, is likely to be in hospital for at least a few more days reported Racing NSW's Dr Duckworth.

Dr Duckworth said that they are still waiting for a plastic surgeon to decide on what treatment will happen for Andrew's facial fractures.

In the fall Andrew suffered a fractured eye socket, a fractured nose, a fractured sternum and compound fractures to his T2, T3 and T4 that will not require surgery.
