A crack at the Irish Derby by Camelot, the brilliant winner of the Investec Derby on Saturday, is under consideration and a decision on the star colt's participation in the Dubai Duty Free-sponsored Classic on June 30 is expected within the next two weeks.
Speaking on Tuesday night, trainer Aidan O'Brien said: "We will see how Camelot is in about ten days' time and make a decision then when we sit down and discuss plans. He seems to have come out of Epsom well and the Irish Derby is a race that means a lot to us. It has been a very solid race and a very fair test over the years and the Curragh is the best Derby track.
"At this stage there is no point looking too far ahead. We will take one race at a time."
Paddy Power make Camelot, who also landed the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket last month, 2-5 favourite to bag a third Classic at the Curragh with his stablemate Astrology, who was third at Epsom, 8-1 second favourite. O'Brien has sent out nine winners of the Irish Derby including the last six.
Astrology, Imperial Monarch, unlucky in running when eighth in the Prix du Jockey Club on Sunday, Tower Rock and Father Of Science are all possibles for the Curragh, according to O'Brien.
