Following Camelot's fantastic victory in the Racing Post Trophy is a lot to ask of any horse, but that is what could be asked of Dawn Approach and Mars, the standout names among the early entries for the 2012 renewal of the Group 1 at Doncaster.
Dawn Approach and Mars, the ante-post favourites for the Qipco 2,000 Guineas and the Investec Derby, could be joined by Richard Hannon's dual Group 2 winner Olympic Glory, who chased home Dawn Approach in the Coventry at Royal Ascot.
The third, Cristoforo Colombo, could reoppose and with recent Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner Pedro The Great also among a whole host of entries, Aidan O'Brien looks to be in a strong position to retain a race he has won twice in the last three years.
Jim Bolger, who trains Dawn Approach, could supplement dual Group 3 winner Grafelli while the British challenge could be bolstered by David Simcock's Birdman, who beaten a head by Olympic Glory in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes last month.
