Victorian apprentice jockey fined $2,000
15 Mar 2017 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk

Racing Victoria Stewards on Wednesday concluded an inquiry into declarations made by Apprentice Rose Pearson at the Ballarat meeting on the 26th of February.

Pearson, together with her representative Mr Alex Woodhams, pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions AR175(gg) for making a declaration to the Stewards in that she had completed the sauna seminar, which was later found to be false, and for signing the sauna course waiver when not having done the course and then using the sauna unaccredited.

Pearson was subsequently fined $2000. In assessing the matter Stewards took into account her plea, disciplinary record, personal circumstances, relative inexperience and the serious nature of the breach.
