Proisir in spring preparation
25 Jun 2013 | Racing Victoria Peter Moody has confirmed that stable addition Proisir will be targeted at feature races towards the back end of the upcoming Victorian Spring Racing Carnival.

The former Gai Waterhouse-trained colt is on the comeback trail from a tendon injury suffered after his second placing behind It’s A Dundeel (NZ) in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) at Warwick Farm in Sydney in March.

The son of Choisir also finished runner-up behind It’s A Dundeel in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick in September before finishing eighth in the Group 1 Sportingbet Cox Plate (2040m) all during his first preparation.

Moody said Proisir could tackle races like the $1 million Group 1 Sportingbet Manikato Stakes (1200m) on October 25 at Moonee Valley as well as the $1 million Group 1 Patinack Farm Classic (1200m) at Flemington on November 9.

“Prosir will be aimed at the sprints towards to the back of the Spring,” Moody said.

“He’s still in the very early stages of his preparation.

“He won’t be ready for anything early and we’re looking to aim him for around October/November.”
