It is all on Installment at Flemington
19 Jul 2012 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk A Mark Kavanagh trained galloper resuming at Flemington on Saturday has been the measure of one of the biggest pre-post 'goes’ seen at TAB Sportsbet for what the bookmaker described as 'a very, very long while'.

Instalment, a three-year gelding by Elvstroem, resumes in the $70,000, Bob Skilton Handicap (1100m) on Saturday and has been backed from an opening price of $7.50 into $3.10.

This is the first start for Installment since winning the listed MSS Security Stakes over 1100m at Flemington on March 3rd when he was a $15.00 chance. This was the second win for Installment at Flemington, and his third from six starts.

In Installment's two previous preparations his first up runs have resulted in a maiden win at Ballarat at his first start in June 2011 and a fourth of 9 beaten 0.6L at Caulfield in December, 2011.

“Punters wasted no time in hooking into this one”, said TAB Sportsbet’s Glenn Munsie on Thursday afternoon.

“A handful of customers were relentless in backing him at every turn in.

“They were not overly large bets but by the time they finished over $22,000 had been invested in a two hour period to win just over $70,000.

“This sort of activity early is rare but they evidently had a plan just to get on and keep betting until their bank ran out.”

“That support has certainly dried up today with only $110 invested as of 1pm Thursday,” he said

As at Thursday afternoon Installment shares $3.10 as favourite with the progressive Mike Moroney trained African Pulse who opened at $2.35.
