Another bad break for Quensland apprentice
18 Jul 2012 | Racingandsports.com.au Top Queensland apprentice Priscilla Schmidt will be sidelined for an indefinite period after breaking a leg in a mishap at the Townsville meeting on Tuesday.
Schmidt was dislodged while taking her mount Sizzleon to the barrier for the second race.
She fractured her left leg in the second major injury setback for the former NSW apprentice this season.
Last November she came down in a horror four-horse fall at Doomben and was sidelined for five months with a broken right leg, broken ribs and a punctured lung.
Schmidt was allowed to fly back to Brisbane on Tuesday night and will see a specialist to determine if she requires surgery.
