McGuren extends Rising Star lead
28 Jun 2012 | By Ben Flores - racingnsw.com.au Matthew McGuren extended his lead further in the Rising Star Series on Thursday after capturing his eight overall win in the 2011/12 all apprentice series at Wyong.
Now certain to claim his first Rising Star Series Cup with two heats to run, McGuren (88) sits well clear of series rival Blake Spriggs (69) with Shaun Guymer (57), Sam Clipperton (56), Adam Hyeronimus (54), Alison Threadwell (50), Chad Schofield (44), Serg Lisnyy (40), Lauri Wray (33) with Jenny Duggan (33) rounding out the 'Top Ten'.
Goulburn will stage the penultimate heat tomorrow (June 29) with the final to be held at Hawkesbury on Sunday, July 22.
