Anthony Cummings has a youngster of promise on his hands after Your Song scored an impressive win in the $70,000 J D C Flooring Handicap (1300m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
The Fastnet Rock colt debuted earlier in the month and was a solid three and a quarter length third and showed promise, second up at Warwick Farm, that promise was even more evident.

Ridden by Peter Robl, Your Song sat fourth on the fence after jumping well from barrier three about three lengths off race leader Weepu (Reith) with She’s A Stalker (Brown) outside the leader.
Little changed in the run until the home turn when Weepu and She’s A Stalker took the turn a few horses wide. This gave Robl and Your Song the perfect opportunity to cut the corner, save ground and take the lead.
At the 275m Your Song was in the lead but She’s A Stalker wasn’t finished with. The impressive loomed large on Your Song’s outside and the two gallopers when toe to toe over the final furlong.
She’s A Stalker never gave up but Your Song never gave an inch and he held a head advantage all the way to the finish line. A length and three quarters away in third was Forever Crazy (Guymer). The overall time was 1.18.92 with the last 600m run in 35.97.
“He is a very nice horse, probably one of the best we have at the moment,” stable representative Barry Smith said.
“He is very gross, big, big and hard to get the weight off him, he is a good doer so it is hard to get him fit so he will improve out of this run today.
“(Anthony) might just back off him now and get him ready for the spring, a little freshen up and look for a nice race for him in the spring.”
“He has got great ability and we thought he would come here today and produce the goods, which he has done,” Robl said.
“He has got a lot of improvement, probably mentally more so than physically with him, but it will come.
“I had a fair idea they were probably wanting to get three or four off (the fence) and I was happy to cut the corner and then come out to that part of the track.
“To his credit, the second horse didn’t drop off him and he can’t giving so it was a good win.”
Your Song is out of the Fuji Kiseki (JPN) mare Zembu and is owned by Gooree Pastoral Company (Mgr: A J Baddock).
