View the RNSW stewards' patrol film of the protest from Race 9 at Rosehill
12 Sep 2017 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk

Racing NSW Stewards' have released their Patrol Footage of the ninth race at Rosehill on Saturday, the Bm 84 Handicap (1400m). A protest was lodged after the race by Brenton Avdulla, the rider of second placed Wayanka, again the winner Interlocuter ridden by Tye Angland and the stewards upheld the protest reversing the placings.

The Rosehill stewards report on Saturday stated that the stewards considered the objection lodged by Avdulla against Interlocuter being declared the winner, alleging interference in the early part of the straight.

After considering all the evidence the stewards found that near the 300m Wayanka had established running between Cosmopol and Interlocuter. Interlocuter then shifted out which then resulted in Wayanka losing the run and being awkwardly placed close to the heels of Cosmopol for some distance.

As the stewards were satisfied that had this incident not occurred Wayanka would have finished in advance of Interlocuter, the objection was upheld. The placings were amended to:

1st Wayanka

2nd Interlocuter
