Lady Dee Dee - slow to begin.  Over-raced through the middle stages.

Miss Magda - over-raced in the early and middle stages.  When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer Tom Hughes explained that at its recent runs the filly has been a victim of circumstances and its last start at Sandown on July 5th Miss Magda was only beaten 5.1 lengths and he was expecting a forward showing today.

He further explained that over the concluding stages the gelding had come to the end of its run and was being held comfortably on the line.
