Racing Victoria stewards' reported on Monday morning that the Richard Hannon trained Raymond Tusk (IRE) will not be accepted for the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) on Tuesday with the stable advising that the five-year-old High Chaparral entire will go forward to the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) at Flemington on November 5th.
Raymond Tusk was fourth to Mustajeer (GB) in the Ebor Handicap over 2787m at York on August 24th after twice being Group 3 placed over the English summer this year. Well traveled, Raymond Tusk won at Group 2 Grand Premio over 2400m at San Siro in Italy in 2018 and earlier this year was sixth in the Emirs' Trophy over 2400m in Qatar.
He was at $17.00 with TAB's Caulfield Cup market. The current co-favourites for the Cup are Finche (GB) and Mer De Glace (JPN) at $8.00.
The Caulfield Cup field will be decided on Wednesday afternoon.
