I Thought So back for At Sea Handicap at Randwick

The $125,000, At Sea Handicap (1100m) features at Randwick on Saturday with 18 nominated on Monday and 197 nominations overall for the nine race programme.

The Snowden stable have put forward I Thought So to try and go one better than in the 2018 running of the handicap when the five-year-old So You Think gelding, with 55kg, was a narrow second to Dreamforce with 56.5kg.

I Thought So, who is resuming after a spell since last July, went forward after the At Sea Handicap to claim the Winter Dash over 1200m by a 1/2L.

Also resuming would be Clair Cunningham’s Cradle Mountain who had a short and successful three race campaign in the early summer for two wins and a second. The latter was in the listed Razor Sharp over 1200m at Randwick to Fell Swoop on December 15th.

Three-year-old Akeed Mofeed gelding Heart Conquered from the Hawkes’ stable also had a productive summer with three wins in succession. He resumed over 1000m on the Kensington track on May 4th carrying 59.5kg to third behind Brook Magic with 55.5kg and November Man with 53.0kg.

There are 19 two-year-old’s nominated for the 2YO Handicap (1400m) including the Waller stable’s Reloaded who won on debut in the course on April 25th. The Snitzel colt out of the Oaks winning Hollow Bullet was too smart for Disruptor and Discharged, both of whom are also nominated for Saturday.

The track is rated a Good 4 on Monday with the rail to be in the True position for the entire circuit.

Sydney’s weather has no rain forecast for the week with temperatures up to 26c on Tuesday and through to 25c on Friday. Saturday’s forecast is for a sunny day with 14c – 26c.
