Beach Patrol claims Arlington Million

The Chad Brown trained Beach Patrol (USA) (Lemon Drop Kid) with Joel Rosario up won the US$1m, Grade 1 Arlington Million (2000m) at Arlington on Saturday.

Fanciful Angel (IRE) was second and Deauville (IRE) third with the margins 1 1/2L and 2 1/2L.

Brown also trained Dacita (CHI) (Scat Daddy), with Irad Oritz up, to win the US$600,000, Grade 1 Beverly D (1800m).

Oscar Performance (USA) (Kittens Joy), trained by Brian Lynch and ridden by Jose Ortiz, won the US400,000, Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes (2000m) with Taj Mahal (IRE) second and Afandem (FR) third. Permian (IRE) broke down shortly after the winning post with jockey William Buick taken to hospital after the fall.
