Hannon launches double Hungerford asault

Champion trainer Richard Hannon will be doubly-represented when he attempts to win Saturday's Group 2 Betfred Hungerford Stakes for the second time in five years.
 
Hannon has declared both Strong Suit (Ryan Moore) and Libranno (Jimmy Fortune for the Newbury 7f contest he won most recently with Paco Boy in 2008.

Chachamaidee, who finished a length and a half in front of LIbranno when winning the Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last time out, will once again reoppose while Irish interest will come in the shape of th John Oxx-trained Alanza.

Leading Melbourne Cup hope Mount Athos will be ridden by Moore for the first time when the five-year-old bids for a hat-tick in the Group 3 Betfred "the Bonus King" Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury.

Luca Cumani's runner, who has won at Newmarket and York on his two most recent starts, faces six rivals in the 1m 5f heat.
