Buffering one to beat in BTC Cup
07 May 2012 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk Buffering has been rated the one to beat since betting opened on the $400,000, Group 1 WFA BTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben on Saturday on April 27.

The Mossman four-year-old opened at $5.50 but received immediate support. He was into $4.40 before an easy win as a long odds-on favourite at Eagle Farm on May 2. Following that performance the Robert Heathcote-trained gelding was slashed to $2.80.

With Rain Affair, Nobby Snip and Pinwheel not going towards the BTC Cup, Buffering looks to have the race at his mercy.

The quality of opposition could thin even further if Peter Snowden decides to retire Beaded ($8.00).

Bets on Buffering include $875 each way at $5.50; $1,750 at $5.00; $1,350 at $5.00; $1,000 each way at $5.00 and
$1,000 at $5.00.
