First metropolitan winning treble for Baker
17 Jun 2017 | By Rob Burnet

Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker saluted with his first metropolitan winning treble at Rosehill on Saturday with first Test The World with Jason Collett, second Sir Plush (NZ) again with Collett and thirdly with Collateral and Tim Clark.

“I might have to have a quiet beer and watch the All Blacks tonight. It had been a great day and Tim was very confident before the race. I said to him that Jason Collett is my favourite jockey now and you have to catch up and he was very confident,” said Baker after Collateral’s win in the #Theraces Bm 78 Handicap (1800m).

“It was a big effort, you do not often see horses sit three deep and win like that. A huge thrill I must say. I think he is an exciting horse and he will go onto bigger things,” he added.

This was the third win in succession for Collateral with Clark having ridden all three. Overall the Excellent Art five-year-old gelding has won six from 23 starts.

Baker has won 34 Sydney metropolitan races this season to-date to be sixth on premiership table.
