Big Duke (IRE) best backed for Sydney Cup

Punters are liking TAB’s $3.00 favourite Big Duke (IRE) in Saturday's $2m, Group 1 Schweppes Sydney Cup (3200m) with over half the money already placed on the Darren Weir trained Chairman's Handicap winner.

“Big Duke’s enormous taking is no surprise considering he was clear favourite for the original Sydney Cup and is coming off strong form with two wins from his last two starts on heavy. The booking of Glen Boss is another plus.” TAB’s Glenn Munsie said.

The $6 chance Polarisation (GB) is the next best backed, while the second favourite Penglai Pavilion (USA) ($5.50) is yet to interest punters.

Th Hayes and Danernig trained Boom Time ($21) is the best backed outsider following an impressive last start win
