First4 pool guarantee's popular at Moonee Valley
06 Aug 2012 | ThoroughbredNEWS News Desk Saturday's First 4 pool guarantees at Moonee Valley were a huge success with TAB Sportsbet customers.

Victorian TAB customers had $1million worth of First 4 pool guarantees across the entire meeting.  Each race contained a minimum $125,000 First 4 pool, with each race easily reaching the mark.

The average First 4 pool size throughout the meeting was $222,119

Also at the Moonee Valley meeting TAB Sportsbet reports that customers were happy to take whatever price was on offer for The Cleaner in the HK Racehorse Owners Association Open Handicap (2040 metres).

Opening at $14 it was crunched in to start at $4.40, a clear second pick behind race favourite Banca Mo. Despite leading for most of the trip, The Cleaner couldn’t hold off the finishing burst of Banca Mo and had to be content with second spot.

Some of the bigger bets placed on The Cleaner were: $6,000 @ $4.30, $3,350 @ $4. Of the winning investments on Banca Mo, some of the larger ones were $5,000 @ $3.20, $4,000 @ $3.50 and $3,000 @ $3.00.

Relaxed And Happy’s victory in the Canterbury BMW Inglis Bonus saw no change to TAB Sportsbet’s Golden Rose market.

With several horses in the Inglis nominated for the $1m, Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m), at Rosehill on September 15th, the all-the-way win by Relaxed And Happy meant prices remained unchanged.

De Shamekh and Albrecht were considered strong chances in the race but failed to get the cash.  One customer invested $26,000 @ $4.40 on De Shamekh to win today’s race while Albrecht was $5 into 3.50.
